Service Profile

Ashcott House is a Residential Care Home for Adults with Learning Disabilities. The Residential service has one building; the bungalow. It is registered for 7 individuals; males and females who require 24-hour care and support. Ashcott House does not provide nursing care. However, we have experience in support service users who have complex needs which include mental health.

ABOUT THE SERVICE

Ashcott House is situated in a residential location in Ipswich. Approximately 15 minutes’ drive from the A12. Approximately 5 minutes’ drive to the town centre, providing easy access to all local amenities, leisure facilities and transport services. It is also linked to other main town centres via the A14. Ashcott House has been fully refurbished to provide a high-quality residential environment; the physical environment has been adapted to accommodate residents who have learning disabilities and who may also have associated physical disabilities. The bungalow can accommodate wheelchair users and those who require a higher level of staff support. The bungalow has a large purpose-built shower for the use of those who live here. The bedrooms are all single-use; 7 bedrooms are in the bungalow. All bedrooms have hand basins. There are kitchen facilities, enabling residents to participate in everyday life patterns. There is ample communal and private space at Ashcott House, which also has a conservatory and separate lounge area.

Service AIMS

We aim to provide quality care for all individuals looking at all individual support needs. We encourage independence and give full support where needed. We offer a home-from-home approach where all the service users are involved in all aspects of their daily living and make decisions with support from family, staff and advocates, they also make decisions about the bungalow they live in.
