Our last CQC report was published in October 2024 but was undertaken in January and February 2024.
Ashchurch House will provide a care package based on individuals needs and requirements. Prior to admission, a full assessment will be undertaken and hours will be provided based on the outcome of the assessment.
Ashchurch House provides care and support for both male and female individuals who have a form of learning disability. We are able to adapt to an individual's changing needs and conditions and are able to continue to provide care right through to the end of life. Staff undergo continuous training to ensure the best possible care is provided to the people whom we support.
Ashchurch House is situated in a residential location in Hornchurch Essex. Approximately a 5 minute drive from the M25. Located very close to Hornchurch’s town centre, providing easy access to all local amenities, leisure facilities and transport services. It is also linked to other main town centres via the A127.
Ashchurch House has been adapted to support residents with learning disabilities and who may also have associated physical disabilities. Further improvements were made to the service in October 2017 with a lift being installed within the home. This has had great benefits for the residents within the home. The house can now accommodate wheelchair users on the ground floor and first floor. We have a full-time maintenance worker who ensures that the environment is continued to be maintained to a high quality.
Staffing is provided according to the assessed needs of the current service user group. All staff receives suitable training in order to carry out their jobs efficiently and effectively to include mandatory and specialist courses. All new staff will undergo the 12-week Induction training using the Care Certificate if they have not already completed this.
Our philosophy is based on ordinary life principles and the belief that all people regardless of their disabilities should have the same opportunities to experience normal patterns of life within the community. We believe it is important to improve the quality of the lives of the individuals we support. We aim to prompt independence as best as possible and support with areas when required.
