There is a registered manager, 24-hour staffing, waking night to support individuals.
Staff at Ashgables are dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere facilitating a safe, supportive and caring environment for their residents. Every person’s needs are different so their requirements are tailored to suit each individual. There is a range of activities on offer with participation gently encouraged. Achievements are recognised and celebrated. Great importance is placed on listening to the views and concerns of residents in order to help them overcome concerns or problems. The key objective is to assist residents in building the self-confidence that will enable them to live an enjoyable and satisfying life.
Ashgables House is situated in a cul-de-sac off the main road into Chippenham. It is a 10-minute walk into the town centre where a variety of shops, cafes, and pubs are situated. Ashgables is split into 2 houses both with a communal lounge and dining areas, kitchens with cooks, and tea and coffee-making facilities. An activity hut is provided offering a range of therapeutic activities, bingo and listening to music. Some of the rooms have en-suites but a number of communal bathrooms are located throughout both homes. Ashgables has extensive grounds for service users to walk around or sit and chat.
Train and bus services are close to the home. Buses run regularly throughout the day into Chippenham, Bath, or Swindon, and rail services to Bristol and Swindon or London operate from the local train station.
Each person’s support plans are tailored around them and their needs and wishes, staff support individuals to gain independence, social skills and enjoy participating in activities that they enjoy doing.
